rhdntd's diary entry is pretty funny.
When my girlfriend fell asleep before me tonight, I thought I heard the telephone ringing. It was awfully late for anyone to call, especially since we know no one. Then I realized it was the harmonics of her snoring echoing through the bedroom. I was inspired to poetry, which I have to write down before going back to bed. And so you are privileged.
First I tried haiku:
The echo of your snore like
summer rain hits the
window. A telephone rings.
Then I decided to go for a limerick:
I woke to the echo of your snore
In the night like a telephone's roar
I would not scold thee
But neighbors told me
To pay more for a quieter whore

How do I dig it out?
rhdntd made the first commentary to this article of mine in the editing queue on kuro5hin.org
While trying to get a scoop site running on my Mac mini OSX at home, ( still haven't succeeded yet) during the run of install.pl, I noticed:
Time::Timezone is up to date.
Time::CTime is up to date.
Time::ParseDate is up to date.
At work, US 2007 DST change's impact is being taken quite seriously. US Congress has set us the bomb!
It is only natural to ask:
Is K5 trenches bullet proof for US 2007 DST rule change?
ps. HO HO, it's the Bush Energy do-nuts, not a surprise.
On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.
From my own research, Sun has a price tag of $400 per host for their vintage Solaris 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 OS patches or $150k for organization with more than 375 servers to patch for those old systems. Newer versions of Solaris OS patches are covered under current support contracts. Oracle Application servers and E-Business suites's OJVM has complicated matrix for their lines of products with numberous versions and patch updates to follow. For Oracle 10g Databases, to offer data type based on local time zone file alone as a permanent data storage structure is the stupidest design mistake, IMHO. Those data are digital wastes or digital virus.
My religious view can be summoned up as:
# Nature take care of us before we try to change it
# Time is not real but to change it with legislative might is the real pain for all who can't skip a heart beat at our own will.'
