First of all, let me make it clear, time itself does not test anything. Moon has been there for billions of year, without human being’s participation, nothing has been tested.
I understand that it takes time to see results from the slow evolution of the time on cultures. But what I do not agree is the extreme statement saying that "only" time will test cultures.
Not only Chinese culture has been tested by time for thousand years, but also Western cultures. I always see people using your statement as an excuse to exclude Chinese culture from the cultures of human beings. Human beings are the only intelligent species on this earth. All cultures are directly related to or derived from the power of human brain. Actually they are the output of the human creativities. The smarter a group of people is, the better their culture will be.
BTW, pls never confused with culture development and the Chinese culture itself as whole. One is constantly changing from time and another is the result of the changes in a given time. Chinese culture that is created by Chinese people changes everyday, every minute. I do not know how much Chinese traditional cultures that you claimed having thousand years are still there retained since 1949.
We all have experience that things can stand testing of time are those that meet the basic universal laws. Anything that does not fit this criteria would be gone or disappear from time to time from human histry. That is the true meaning of testing of time!
