If yes, have your income ever exceeded the first bracket?? Looks like your farm is not doing very well
In your example, the firt $67000 still pay 8%, you only pay 10% for the amount over 67000.
For example, if 67,000 is the higher end of first bracket, and 80,000 is the higher end of second bracket. The tax rate for each bracket is 8%, 10%, 12%. If you make 85,000, then the tax you pay is:
67000*8% + 13000*10% + 5000*12%
NOT 85000*12%!!!
Whatever you donate can be tax deductable, if the party you donate to meets certain standard. I am not sure if the donation to your own church is tax deductable or not -- my feeling is no.
