I did not invent it. It was a traditional habit to shorten "Sima Qian" into "Ma Qian". If you like, I can give you loads of examples.

Everyone knows that. 李世民 is not even the heir. He became the emperor by launching a coup that killed his two brothers one of whom (Jiancheng) was the heir. Did I say he was 开国皇帝? Still, he was similar to 开国皇帝 as he contributed the most to the setting of the new dynasty.
