i am telling everyone that hoa is bad. my friend Wang is pretty much influenced by me. not only she is afraid of HOA, and also she began to love old styled cape code or rambler houses. she doesn't use chinese agent, as i campaigned. i helped her to find an agent on redfin.com.
recently she fell in love with an all brick(real brick) exterior cape cod house with a big yard built in 1950. she made an offer and was accepted by the seller.
she paid money for inspection. then she found the house has a yearly city tax of $1200. she asked the agent about the city tax.the agent said city tax was like HOA fee, for street lights and snow removal.
"then i don't want the house", she said
