Duplicate copies have at once been dispatched, and we trust that these will arrive in safety.

从英文信中我们可以正常地理解到“Duplicate copies”应该是额外一套书“another copy”，而不是复印件翻印的“复制副本”。
不说那复印机是60年代的事，即使今天老美依然说：
Duplicate copies = another copy （也是原件正本）
复印件= Xerox，或者 Xerox copy， 或者 Xeroxed copy, 或者只是 copy
