there are at least three stage amplification of this crisis.
1, loosing lending standard, this is what he is pointing, ok, it's the root. But, the first rule of investment is that you should know when you must cut and run; but non of those bankers did that; did they really have some common sense?
2, They even trick those low educated to these kind of trap, and made borrowers to pay only insterest as much as possible; it is obvious that the interest is where their profits come from.
But, again, non of above is the real trigger to the crisis. Two FFs are the banker for all morgages of other banks, the real game started here. they packed and sold it on Wall street, it's called securitilization; and more, they didn't sell it only once, they sold it over, and over, and over, it's called Derivative(not the one you learnt in caculus).
the last two steps have been the real high power amplifier for all shit we have.
