We need to know how high the stake is in this game and I suspect it can't be very high. People behave very different with respect to this.
I remember playing poker with my colleagues after dinner. We play small of course, starting with a nickel. It was never fun because in the end, people will just put in a few dollars to see each other's hands.
In the real games in Las Vegas, the stake can easily run up to tens of thousands dollars and that is when the game gets interesting and people behave very differently from the penny ante game.
