Sorry, I can't type chinese.
I'm always confused if doctor is a repected profession, especial after 1949. They are really bad paid. I've the story from a Doctor of my parent's generation that if a Nurse and a Doctor started working the same year the same hospital, the Doctor's salary was 1 level lower than a nurse, of course, this was because of ccp's stupid policy since nurse is a labor occupation, supposedly is the leading class. Moreover, the profession had been degraded, the barrier between layman and practitioner was almost eliminated, especialy in Culture Revolution: A lot of nurses turned to be doctors, and those "bare foot doctors". For Mr Tang, this maybe hard to be understood, he doesn't have such experience.
However, for laymens/patients, their lives are in the hands of you doctors after all; so 红包 or whatever, at least to my opnion, are a fair compesation for doctors. the pure slogan can't make a profession respected. the income, social status do. the income of a doctor may be fair in china, but social status is still low, per se, i can't believe why there are so many blames out there. it's the human nature and system have make the reality as it is. Why should doctors be Saints? as they're badly paid, and blamed.
PS. i don't have any direct relative in the mediacal practice in china. just in case someone attack my motive.
of course, i have friends as doctors.
