that you missed a good opportunity to sue for sentimental damage (i.e. mental distress &/or emotional suffering) which was “well insured against” !

Surgical wound infection is commonly a result of negligence for which both the attending surgeon and the hospital are held responsible. The fact that you were treated as a Mexican speaks volumes about the true color of those persons involved. You have been too kind-hearted.
