govt shoall give a good deal if it wants to seal it in the name national interests/security whatever crap you can name it.
we saw this in Dr Li, wen-ho's case. he pleaded guilty for one minor charge and feds let him go. he earned his compensation over million through civil court.
govt tends to cover everything. Bush sr pardoned weinsburg and acquired w's diary which was destroyed as it would be an evidence anymore; it means it would never be a public record. In this country the only thorough public record is court record. declassification is not.
Sealing for whatever is akind of damage control. In this case, I don't see any further damage to whatever. Anyone knows any embassy in the world is a kind of nest of spies. it is a political game now. Bush wants it go, he probably wants give a deal and seal it; but congress doesn't. it would be last a little bit long keep refreshing public memory, till 08. another thonght, Libby won't let it go now unless a full pardon.
