Jeannine LaRue is a phenomena by her own right.
I'm glad I went to listen to her lecture when everyone else has more important things to do during their work hours. I liked her speech in general a lot except that 'if your dream is big enough, facts don't count'. My personal view is that if facts don't count, why do we collect them in our databases? We ought to ask ourselves what sort of facts will likely be counted against what sort of investigative interest and what sort of facts should be left out so that it wouldn't stop some individual's big dream at a later time.
Religion is the most fine line every politician in US must walk and not tumble. At least, it allows people to walk, not to be run over by rapid changes without reflective bounce into the inner psyche and condition of an entire nation.

Jeannine LaRue is currently Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Jon S. Corzine. She has been in that position since January 17, 2006. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Office of Appointments, the Office of Constituency Relations, and the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Jeannine’s professional career began as a high school English teacher in 1974 at Penns Grove High in Salem County. Her experience in her local teacher’s union led her to Trenton as an NJEA lobbyist where she worked tirelessly for almost a decade.
Jeannine’s political and legislative career began in 1979 when she was elected to the Winslow Township Board of Education in Camden County. That historic election gave her the distinction of being the first woman, the first minority, and the youngest person elected to public office in that 56-square mile town. Three years later, Jeannine was elected to the Winslow Township Council where she served until 1991.
In 1991, Jeannine LaRue was appointed as one of the five Casino Control Commissioners by Governor Jim Florio where she served as vice chairman. That Commission regulates the casino industry in Atlantic City as well as licenses both casinos and employees who work there. While in that position, Ms. LaRue again followed her passions by developing educational and mentoring programs for Atlantic City youth so that they might pursue careers and enjoy an independent lifestyle in this society.
Also, while a Casino Control Commissioner, Ms. LaRue founded the New Jersey Statewide Women’s Summit which attracted over 800 men and women interested in issues affecting women and children. That Summit was held for three years and has since become the statewide Governor’s Conference on Women.
Ms. LaRue’s passion centers on women and children in both the healthcare and educational arenas. It was that passion that moved her to accept a position in 1996 to develop a mentoring program for urban students in Newark. That non-profit organization, later to be known as 10,000 Mentors, attracted more than 500 corporate and community leaders to sign on as mentors to Newark students in grades 3-6.
In 1997, Ms. LaRue joined the senior management team as vice president to establish a government relations department for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. That System is the largest healthcare system and second largest private employer in New Jersey. Jeannine developed a legacy that put both the System and its CEO Ronald J. Del Mauro on the PoliticsNJ.com 100 Most Influential Persons list, an honor given to non-elected/appointed powerbrokers in New Jersey. No other healthcare entity or CEO has appeared on that list. In 2002, Jeannine was also placed on the 100 Most Influential list through as well.
Ms. LaRue has been hired as a motivational speaker throughout the country spreading the word about how turbulent times and tragic events can act as a positive change agent in one’s life. A member of several non-profit and charitable boards, she has been honored by more than 70 civic, business, and community organizations throughout the country.
She is President of the Executive Women of New Jersey and Secretary to the Essex County Board of Trustees. Jeannine was recently appointed to the Association for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ) and serves on both the Governor’s Council for HIV-AIDS and the Governor’s Disparity Study Commission.
Jeannine LaRue believes that there are two days important in one’s life…the day you are the born and then the day you know why. Her “why” is to serve her Maker and connect people of all ethnic backgrounds and interests to resources that advance the lives of people within this society. Hence…she has developed an information system called the LaRuelist. Subscriptions are free! She strongly holds that exposure to information is an avenue where people of all kinds can connect to enhance our spiritual, social, and professional lives.
Jeannine LaRue did both her undergraduate and graduate work at Glassboro State College, majoring in English Education and School/Community Relations, respectively. She is the mother of two biological children, surrogate mother of her sister who now an adult, and grandmother of five. She is currently raising two children, ages 10 and 12. Jeannine is member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Trenton where she co-chairs the Fundraising Committee for the 2006 Women’s Day.
