我怀疑真实性的原因有几个：
1，如果发生武装冲突，肯定是大事，不可能没有英文文献；文章中说乐英军降半旗，已经沟掉了英国死要面子活受罪的可能，人家没没保密，怎么任何英文的东西都没有？文中提到伦敦的英文报纸，什么报?42个英国军人的命，不是开玩笑的。
2，原来在国内看到过类似的东西，不过不是说打枪，是打架，没动枪，这个有点像那篇东西改的。国内好象登载《作家文摘》上，还说周批评云云；

Moreover, even in its moments of greatest insanity, China has chosen to

away. Most surprisingly, China--concerned inter alia about the impact on
Hong Kong--refused to accept sovereignty over Macau when Portugal
attempted to give it back. Another key incident showed that China was
even willing to take positive action to support Hong Kong during a
period of turmoil at home: the deadline for construction of the
desperately needed water pipe to provide Chinese water to Hong Kong fell
during the worst period of the Cultural Revolution, and the Chinese side
went forward anyhow, even accelerating the construction in order to meet
the deadline.
