I still do not understand what you told me. OK, so you let out your house and rent a unit. By doing so, you earn some $500. So why bother? It would be much easier for you to stay in the house and just let out one room to a tenant. That way, you can have similar incomes without settling in some rotten flat or apartment.
Another question: is your house on mortgage? If not, why do you have to sell? If so, how would you suppose to pay it without a job? Apparently, you would not be able to pay the mortgage with the $500 monthly income.
Brother, you do not seem to have a good memory. Some half a year ago, you said that you let out a house and some accident happened to a friend of yours. My impression was that you have two houses, one for your own residence and the other for letting. Now you seem to have forgotten the previous story and sound as if you have only one house which is to be sold. Man, I find it hard to decide whether I should believe you or not.
Sorry I am poking my nose into other’s business, as they say in England. But I am concerned. See, I am facing the same problem. My house was bought on mortgage. So after my early retirement, the mortgage would become a heavy burden. I am considering letting out a room, but that means loss of privacy. In the future, I would not be able to curse either my wife or my son freely, neither would they me . What a shame!
