I. It seems to me that you don't understand what "pass the test of time" mean.
Actually, it is quite simple. "Pass the test of time" means pass the test of numerous people over a long period of time. Chinese culture pass the test of time means Chinese culture is considered good by a lot of people over a long period of time.
It further means the following.
1. Chinese culture reflects universal moral and value.
China had been a populous country for long time. Hence, the wisdom of the Chinese culture also reflects the wisdom of a large percentage of human beings over time.
2. Chinese culture adapts.
Of course, the whold world changes over time. China changed and Chinese changed over time. Chinese culture could not have passed the test of time unless it also changed with time. May be it does not change or improve as some may want. But remember this, two three hundred years is just a short period in the long river of history. IMO, it is not sufficient to judge a culture of several thousand years.
II. Now, let me answer some specific questions of yours.
Q: "If the only way to test a culture is by time, what Chinese people need a 脑袋 for? for eating? "饮食"在中国也被视为是一种文化,how would you like to test this one? by time or by tasting? "
A: By tasting. But what if I have a cold one day? All food will then be tasteless on that day. So, a better answer is "By tasting over time."
Q: "Chinese culture has been tested by time for more than five thousand years,and we still know nothing about it. What makes you so confident that in the next ten thousand years, Chinese culture would have been tested by time?"
A: The progress of knowledge is usually prediction followed by understanding. For examples, human can predict the sun come out everyday long before they understood celestial mechanics. Of course, culture is more complicated than Newtonian physics. So, I am not surprised that someone says he know nothing about it.
Do I know as a fact that Chinese culture would still be around after ten thousand years? Of course I don't. Do I have any reason to believe that it won't? Again, I don't. Since we can't see the future, the past is our guide in making long range forecast. My take: Chinese culture is resilient.
III. Why Chinese culture will be the future?
It is more resilient than ancient Greek culture whose emphasize on rationality is without par. It is more resilient than Roman culture whose law system is the forerunner of wester legal system. It is more resilient than the Byzantine culture which brilliantly blend Greek rationality, Roman legality and Christianity.
Modern western culture is the reconstitution of the past by replacing part of Christian ethics with humanism. However, the weakening of Christian ethics leads to nihilism and hedonism. I can't predict the future. But my bet is on the Chinese culture. It is the only culture which does not need to use religion to balance out its other components.
