Hi guys. I am now in trouble with my computer thanks to the duel with Gao Han.
The situation is like this:
In order to hide my IP, I took the suggestion of za laobaixing (zhen) and posted up posters at touxiao’s website anonymously through a relay website. In the process, my computer was attacked by virus released from that damn website. As a result, it changed my user name, password and even the dialling number (I used dial-up system to browse the internet). I called the company and was told that my computer was infected by virus. To kill it, I would have to download a software called “Spyvot” from a website called “download.com”. But the situation is getting worse. Now not only I cannot surf the internet, I cannot even use my computer! Every time I switch on the computer, the screen would show picture of either “Windows ME” or “Dell.com”, then get stuck at this stage, but never proceed to execute the routine program to display the icons on the screen so that I could open files or use softwares.
If I do not solve this problem, I will be unable to write anything at home, were it in English or Chinese. The Chinese software installed in the computer in my office has been removed and I can only write English or post up old articles stored in it like “hei zai zi” (Born Doomed). Also, my communication with friends through email will be cut off as the computing people at my “work unit” have blocked the access to Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. So please forgive me if someone has written to me and has not received my reply.
This is really frustrating and irritating, just like you cannot use your toilet at home. It reminds me of the old days back home when I had to walk miles to a public toilet just to relieve myself. From this painful experience, I find that in every aspect, a home computer has become the equivalent to a private toilet.
C’mon, guys! Give a hand to the poor old sod who needs a toilet so badly. Whether you are an amateur or a tech-lord, come to the rescue of the most hated and celebrated literary master the internet world has ever witnessed! Sitting on the fence means you are murdering countless masterpieces he is going to produce!
