New York State Food Laboratory was the first saying that the pet food from Menu Food Co had rat poison, that subsequently was denied by FDA laboratory. This definitely would put NY lab in a defense position and it still claimed that their finding was correct. The rat poison was said to be from gluten imported from China. That was last week.
In today's AP news , the lab was described as:
"... a facility that looks more like a high school chemistry lab than cutting edge workplace."
And this is something interesting:
"It's been very stressful," said Virginia Greene, an associate food chemist. "We were triple checking our methodology. There are some skeptics and we have to fend them off. ... When you have a result like this, it starts casting more doubt than enthusiasm. It's bizarre how science works like that.""
What is Virginia Greene meant by "When you have a result like this, it starts casting more doubt than enthusiasm." ?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070402/ap_on_sc/pet_food_recall_lab;_ylt=AtD_yUNccRd63MGrHeMEn_PMWM0F
I hope that was not an April fool.
