Remember when you were alone?
It isn't quite the same
As being lonely, is it.
Alone means empty.
But alone is hungry.
So when you're alone
You're always hoping
Someone will come
To fill up your empty space
Until it just disappears.
I know you haven't felt alone
For a long time.
The lonely got you,
Didn't it.
Lonely chews deeper into a woman
Than it can into a man.
A man can hide from himself...
Behind football games on TV,
A harder grind at work,
Even polishing his car...
So his whole world can marvel
At his standing
And shining.
Five blocks away.
But a woman is mostly
A feeling,
Caring
Mink coat pocket.
She's made that way
To thaw a frostbitten man.
In fact, that's why she cries..
If she didn't
Her tears would freeze hard
Inside her.
And she needs to be soft enough
To stretch as her man fills her.
