Why, of course the people don’t want war. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.
应用到英美对伊拉克战争，中越战争，甚至以后可能的中台，中日冲突，都十分贴切。但估计达部分人不知道哪个大学问说的这段话。这是出自历史上臭名昭著的纳粹瘾君子，是戈林在纽伦堡审判中的一段证词。
