Gumi, you still want my apologies?
芦笛
I have been terribly busy these days. In the evenings, I have been under the close surveillance by my life-long boss and had little or no chance to catch a glimpse of the web. So I don't know what has happened since I put up the last poster in response to Gumi's reply. Neither did I have time to write the Chinese version and post it up as I had promised.
It seems to me that Gumi has a special gift to disgust his opponents. Let's take this argument about grammar for an example: I volunteered to admit openly my grammar mistake in order to set a moral example for him by wakening his residual sense of honor. Seeing my lofty example, I hoped naively, he would be touched, inspired and ashamed of his filthy conduct throughout his "web career". Unfortunately, as it turned out, I was na飗e enough to hope a man without the least sense of honesty and honor could be re-educated.
Aware of the fact that he is the most dishonest person active on the web, I nonetheless underestimated him. It was beyond my wildest imagination that he would interpret such a lofty gesture in his habitually filthy way. Instead of being inspired and touched so as to apologize to me for his libeling, he dreamed that I would apologize to him!
Apologize to him! What for? For that language mistake I have made? Is it a crime or sin, may I ask? Is there any chance for me to redeem it so that my soul could be saved? If I have to apologize for my poor English, what about his misconduct of making up and spreading defaming rumors? Can you believe there is indeed such a creature living in this dirty world?
Sadly, there is indeed such a creature present in this dreadful world, alas.
What is more, it seems to be his born ability to darken everything he touches. Even with this "apologies" business, he could not help but to sicken the readers with his hypocrisy. When Joke questioned him why he was so serious about the grammar mistake, he said he was eager to see me realize my promise (that is to say, he thought I had promised to apologize to him). But the next moment, boom, he said he did not regard an open apology as necessary!
It is simply beyond his ability to be honest and straight-forward. I had expected too much. He is certainly more "flexible" than mercury. How could I be so stupid as to expect him to stick to the facts and principle? After all, as Confucius says, "a piece of rotten wood can never be carved".
If my bossy wife allows me to write something this evening, I would write a piece to reply to Tian Yi Hei. Then tomorrow I will write a Chinese statement about this incident to present an intact picture to the readers at every BBS site I know.
PS.
I have just read Gumi's response. According to him, the evidence was in the now-closed shuodongdaoxi. How very convenient! Let me tell you something, smart ass: I happen to have a friend who has downloaded all the stuff there onto a CD. Give me a range of the times, then I will ask him to reproduce the posters I wrote during that period. Don't dream that you can get away after you slandered someone!
I cannot read the Chinese text of your poster. I will handle it when I am at home.
