this is the most typical example as to how "Chinese Theorums" were established. The ancient Chinese mathematicians observed some math phenomena, and wrote down some methods to do some CONCRETE CALCULATIONS, but never be able to generalize these methods and give a general math expression. Later on, West-educated Chinese mathematicians found those methods, explained and re-expressed them in the modern way, even though the re-expressed theorum (now it really became theorum) is no longer the original vague and concrete expression in terms of depth and abstractiveness.
