Optical Network Growth and Infrastructure in China: a Comprehensive Introduction

In preparation a scheduled visit to Deajeon Korea, and Xian and Bejing China between August 19 and September 3rd (for which i must thank Professor Kilnam Chon of Kaist among others) I have discovered an wonderful slide deck on fiber network infrastructure in China. The title is Optical Fiber Communications In Mainland China –Activities and visions of carriers, equipment vendors and academia.
It was given by Professor Emeritus Chongcheng Fan of Tsinghua University, Bejing at OFC/NFOEC2007 in Anaheim, California on March 27, 2007. In 57 slides it presents a stunning overview of infrastructure, networks, network operators, vendors and research programs. If you want to be impressed run don’t walk and download the deck here.
