消极大法官，
俺不是语义学者，只是用通常的语文知识参加讨论，因此用词不准是肯定的。
俺也没打过官司，连法庭肥皂剧也不看，所以，涉及法律的话题都是外行话。
这网上有的是专家，可是真人不露相，俺这闲人就乘机插科打诨，随手打字，错的地方多的是。

Presumption of Innocence
误作 "Psumption of innonce"

【verdict对事实的陈述好像应该只是guilty/not guilty，也就是对charge(s)的是否事实的判定。这和judgement不一样，这是法官给的opinion（这个opinion我没办法改）是法官reasoning的过程。】
是啊，所以我在帖子说，verdict 已经不是 Opinion 之一的如judgment ，view 或 conclusion 诸项所作的价值判断，而是事实判断。
原话：『The accused will be a criminal, and the court's verdict is a statment of fact, instead of a statement of opinion. 』其中所用的时态是：前句是简单将来时，后句是一般直陈现在时，即只有法庭认定犯罪事实后，被告才正式坐罪，vice versa。
【您这个has been declared guilty by a court，为什么用现在完成时？】
无罪假设 - Presumption of Innocence 这样的红头文件，我哪里敢擅自起草啊？这个 "The accused is presumed to be innocent until it has been declared guilty by a court" 是中学课本里的，至于为什么要用“被动现在完成时”，我倒没有想过，消网友是否以为要用“被动一般现在时” :
"The accused is presumed to be innocent until it is declared guilty by a court" ?
我的感觉是：人家母语专业人士几百年千锤百炼的句子一般不会有问题。有可能是我们的理解有偏差。案子办得慢，銬子上得快，所以一个用完成时，一个用一般现在时。汉姆雷特的疯话里不是有句“law's delay and the insolence of office”？
