In CCP's official documents, there has been nothing about such a plan. However, there were sometimes some stories about such proposals or even attempts made by some of Jiang's officials. In my opinion, such a story hardly had any truth in it since anyone with a little brain then could realize that there would be no good but trouble to assassinate anyone else of CCP if Jiang did not even try to kill Mao in his best chance and had never shown any regret afterwards.
